About Me

I’m a freelance Instructional Designer and E-learning Developer, based in Sofia, Bulgaria.

My experience

Over the past 8 years, I’ve been involved in the creation of learning solutions as a designer, developer and project manager. I’ve worked with NGOs, startups and corporate organizations, helping create learning experiences that make a difference for the learner.

My tools

I see it as my mission to turn the clunkiest chunks of information into smooth learning paths. To achieve this, I’ve become intimately familiar with Articulate Storyline and Rise, well acquainted with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects and Audition as well as Camtasia and have had brief encounters with iSpring, H5P and Presenter. I’ve published and managed e-learnings with LMS platforms such as ILIAS, Opigno, Curatr and Adobe Captivate Prime.

Testimonials

Alexandra is a creative instructional designer who can easily handle the messiest of projects. She works well with subject matter experts to turn information into dynamic learning materials. When we were faced with a catalog full of Flash built programs, Alex took on the challenge to rebuild courses which saved the content without using any budget. On top of being a true professional, she is a fabulous person to work with and real asset to any team.

Lisa Collins, ex-Director Global Learning & Development Services, HCL Technologies

Alex has come up to speed very quickly since joining Nuvolo in terms of work processes and tools, working with Curriculum Team members and project team members, and especially regarding how quickly she learned Nuvolo solutions and technology! She has demonstrated superior instructional design skills and quick and creative thinking. Alex will be transitioning to a contract role with Nuvolo. I’m disappointed that she will not remain with the team as a formal employee…but I feel fortunate that she will continue to work with us as a contractor.

Design and development of custom e-learning

Creating an e-learning experience from concept to LMS goes through the steps of identifying training needs and learner profile, designing and developing a solution that will fit them best. Whether you want to deliver training to your employees or customers, need bite-sized learning modules or a full-fledged curriculum, I can help you at every step of the way.

Redesign of e-learning courses

It takes a lot of resources to create an e-learning course, so you might want to reconsider sending those legacy trainings to “Archived”. No matter how badly a training has aged in terms of content or technology (or both), most times a facelift – and sometimes the occasional CPR, can bring it back to life and save your organization not only time and money, but also the integrity of its internal knowledge.

Converting live trainings to e-learning

The rise of digitalization has seen many companies looking to convert their instructor-led trainings to e-learning content. This takes more than simply recreating training materials as multimedia content. For the transition to be successful, you need someone well-versed in the specifics of both modes of instruction. They will be able to make a meaningful interpretation and not just a direct translation from one to the other.

Instructional Design Training for Beginners

Online learning is on the rise and with it the demand for competent Instructional Designers and E-learning Developers. Whether you’re an aspiring professional or looking to build capacity in your Learning & Development team, I can help you get a grasp of the fundamentals of Instructional Design. All training programs I create are customized to your needs.

Here are some core topics we will cover:

  • Navigating the ADDIE and SAM processes
  • Setting learning goals with Bloom’s Taxonomy
  • Creating a design document
  • Designing & developing learning content
  • Creating effective assessments
  • The basics of Articulate 360
  • Visual and interactive design principles for e-learning
  • Testing your course and setting it up on the LMS

Help with choosing the right LMS

With so many LMS offerings out there, it can be hard to choose the one that best suits your organization. Identifying the needs and preferences of your team and learners can be challenging without an outside perspective. This process can be much more efficient when you partner with an E-learning Specialist who can help you easily sift through the options and find the one that’s aligned to your process and requirements.
